A little bit about Foundations...

Foundations Furniture began in 1996 with the help of local residents, the Local Authority and Gateshead Borough Churches Together, to address poverty and disadvantage in Gateshead.

From a part time project based in the Inner West area we are now a full time Charity supporting people from all across the Borough, helping households to lead safe, comfortable home lives.

We have a variety of services to offer our customers:-

• Low cost pre-loved household items
• Even further discount to any household in Gateshead in receipt of housing benefit
• New flatpack furniture and a range of sofas and new white goods and electricals
• An online eBay Charity Shop selling items to raise vital funds to keep our charity open
• Ethical, affordable weekly payment scheme for all new and second hand items (loans are available in store and are provided via NEFirst Credit Union)
• Free collection of unwanted, usable furniture, white goods and electrical items from across Tyne and Wear
• Volunteer and work placement opportunities
